Plein Air Art Mashup at Sawmill Sids

Sawmill Sid has invited Plein Air Artists to his mill property to hang out for a few hours to paint, sketch or take reference photos of the mill surroundings and piles of raw wood slabs that have been salvaged from urban wood resources.

This is an Informal Meetup and due to the industrial nature of the property, some thought must be taken by individuals, to take their own precautions to maintain their own safety.
The Sauga Plein Air Group along with Sawmill Sid Inc. will not be held liable for any personal injuries.

Participation Liability Disclaimer:
* Sawmill Sid Inc and Sauga Plein Air Group organizers are not responsible for any personal equipment damage, theft or loss of artwork.
* Image Use Consent: By participating in this informal meetup at Sawmill Sid Inc Property, artists consent to the possible use of images of the artists and their art at the event, for promotional purposes (social media, flyers, advertising) before, during and after the event.
* Indemnification: The Artis who choose to attend this informal Plein air painting meetup at Sawmill Sid Inc. property on Sunday, July 13th, 2025, in their participation agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sawmill Sid Inc., Sauga Plein Air Group and or its staff, organizers and volunteers from any personal injury, accident claims, damages, or expenses arising from their participation.”

*Bring your medium of choice, your own paint station setups.
*Dress for the weather conditions and wear appropriate clothing to paint outdoors. Also bring your own bug repellent spray, sunscreen and fluids to keep hydrated.
*Ensure you set up, in a safe spot, off to the side of the interior roads or paths, so as not to block working crews, contractors and the public, who are coming and going, on those roads. Also avoid setting up near any machinery, trucks, etc.
*The Small Arms Inspection Building is adjacent to the Sawmill property and is a publicly accessible building with the farmers market taking place as well and washroom facilities would be available there.
*Always be sensitive to the environment and setup where it is safe from poisons plants or animals. Do not throw out your paint water or solvents into the property ground and try and leave the area cleaner than you found it.
*Parking to SawmillInc property is through Small Arms Inspection Building parking lot, near the back righthand side corner.
Be aware that there is some construction on some of the SAIB parking lot.
*Meet at up at 1:00 pm to share your creative works and take a group photo at the front of sawmills cash-out building.
