The Art of Joy / Art Exhibition and Workshop Fundraiser is a community event that combines an art exhibition and workshops to raise money for the Cancer Research Society. The event will feature local artists, vendors, and interactive art workshops. For over 80 years, the Cancer Research Society (CRS) has been one of the few Canadian philanthropic organizations dedicated entirely to funding research on all types of cancer. Since its inception, the CRS has supported thousands of researchers who have made significant advances in cancer prevention, detection, and treatment. CRS has invested $423 million since 1945.
Call for Art Submissions Details
Looking for 2D artwork submissions from local Mississauga and GTA artists at various stages of their careers. Artists are welcome to sell their prints. The maximum size will be 20 x 24 “, with the minimum sizes 11 x 14” or 12 x 12. “ There is no longer a maximum or minimum size.
Eligibility
- Art submissions will be selected based on how well they meet the theme of art of joy.
- An application fee will be $30 for the first piece of artwork submitted and $20 each for additional
Requirements
- Artists will be required to submit an artist BIO and high-quality JPG images of each piece of artwork. Please label the files title_year_size_medium_artist first and last name.jpg.
- Artists are to ensure artwork has proper hanging system (D-Rings and wire)
- Art Drop Off Installation – Saturday, August 2nd – 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
- Art De-Installation and Pick-Up Saturday, August 2nd – 9 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Call for Artisans and Food Vendor details:
Opportunities are available to local Mississauga and GTA art, and artisan vendors selling art prints and other paraphernalia, as well as food and beverage vendors. A Kitchnette serving area, large fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee makers, double sink, prep area and small storage area are available.

· 4 ft wide x 6 ft long rectangle tables will be available at a cost of $250 per table. The tables will include two chairs. Additional tables available to vendors for free on request.
