“We’re thrilled to announce a new opportunity to support Etobicoke’s vibrant artist community by offering affordable studio spaces! This initiative addresses the growing need for dedicated creative spaces and aims to foster a thriving arts scene.

This pilot project will run for 6 months (February 2025 – July 2025) and provide 7 individual studio spaces in a shared, collaborative environment. Each studio offers unique features, with pricing reflecting the size and amenities of the space:

Cloverdale Common at Cloverdale Mall – 250 The East Mall, Toronto, ON M9B 3Y8. 

Access hours: From 9:00 am to 10:00 pm

Amenities Included:

  • Privacy: Most studios have walls, and some include doors.
  • Access: Kitchenette and on-site washroom facilities.
  • Convenience: Backdoor access for loading and unloading equipment or materials.
  • Parking: Ample parking space for easy access.
  • Collective Exhibition:
    After the 6-month lease, artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work alongside other studio tenants in a collective exhibition at the Cloverdale Common Gallery, run by Arts Etobicoke.

This opportunity is ideal for artists of any skill level or experience, including:

  • Visual artists (e.g., painters, sculptors, mixed media artists).
  • Writers seeking a quiet, creative workspace.

Please Note:

  • Due to ventilation limitations, oil painting or other practices requiring strong chemical solvents are not permitted.
  • The space may not be suitable for high-noise activities.

Application Details

Spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to artists who live or work in the Etobicoke area.

  • Submit a short statement (maximum 500 words) describing your artistic practice and how you plan to use the studio.
  • Include your CV.

All applications will be reviewd after January 7th and artists will be contact directly. Tour to the spaces will be schedule in the new year.
