Celebrate the 20th anniversary of Canada’s leading South Asian multi-disciplinary arts festival. Mosaic Festival returns with two days of vibrant performances, visual art, kids programming, and a curated culinary experience featuring over 120 artists.
Main Stage Highlights:
Friday, August 1
- Opening performance by Mohawk artist David R. Maracle
- Sampradaya Dance Creations commemorates their role as Mosaic’s first-ever opening act
- Mekaal Hassan and Shehzad Ali Khan perform qawwali
- UK legend Apache Indian makes his Mississauga debut
- Dance finale by Jadoo Entertainment, choreographed by Dhruv Naik
Saturday, August 2
- Rising Star Program: 10 finalists compete for cash prizes and a chance to perform with a headliner
- 7 PM: 20th Anniversary Flag-Raising Ceremony with the Mayor and dignitaries
- Co-headliners Josh the Band (Canada) and Aima Baig (Pakistan)
- Grand finale by Bollywood Dance School
- Hosted by Ali Kazmi and guest MC Nitinn R. Miranni
Also at the Festival:
- Live plein air painting by the Mississauga Plein Air Group, led by Leo Dias
- Children’s art workshops with Yogita Tandon
- Expanded food options with 7 food trucks and vendors
- Premiere of Mosaic’s 20th anniversary commemorative documentary
Presented by the Canadian Community Arts Initiative (CCAI), Mosaic Festival is North America’s largest free South Asian-themed arts and culture event, fostering community through music, dance, visual art, and storytelling since 2006.
